Surface Meteorological Data    

NCDC DS3505 Integrated Surface Data abbreviated as ISD, ISH, TD3505, DS3505 or DSI-3505 can be downloaded through the NCDC ftp site.

Once downloaded and uncompressed, the raw data files can be processed with SMERGE, creating SURF.DAT file, input to CALMET. The option JDAT = 6 should be used in SMERGE to indicate TD3505 data format of the raw data in the downloaded files. more » « less

The NCDC map viewer can also be used as a visualization tool to identify stations in a desired region. Based on the search criteria, a list of stations is displaced through this graphical web interface.
